We are so excited to see you and want you to feel prepared for your microneedling treatment in Waxhaw! While we’ll go over your pre-care instructions in full at your consultation, a few pointers include:

• Avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment. Alcohol may thin blood, which increases your risk of bruising.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning medications, ideally for 2 weeks before treatment.
• Medications and supplements such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve,Vioxx, and other NSAIDs are all blood-thinning medications and supplements. This can increase the risk of bruising/swelling.
• If you have a special event or vacation coming up, please schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks in advance.

Immediately after the procedure, you may experience reddened and sensitive skin that feels hot to the touch. Some tightening, swelling, peeling, and flaking may also occur. These effects are entirely normal and usually clear up within the first week. If you experience any itching during the recovery process, feel free to take Benadryl.
