Find Confidence and Relief at Our Botox Spa

Patient lays back in office room at a Botox Spa in Waxhaw as provider wearing pink gloves places neurotoxin in her forehead to either relieve TMJ pain or relax wrinkles.

At Dogwood Face & Body, we rely on Botox for more than just a wrinkle treatment!

Botox is actually a brand of botulinum toxin, a lab-refined neurotoxin that relaxes muscles and prevents them from contracting. Most notably, brands like Botox and Xeomin work to smooth wrinkles and create a more youthful appearance.

However, they also help with medical conditions like TMJ, migraines, and neck pain. Keep reading to learn more about the versatility of the treatments we offer at our Botox Spa in Waxhaw!

Botox for Aesthetics

Botox treats dynamic wrinkles, which form when you make facial expressions. When we inject Botox into specific muscles, it prevents and smooths the following types of wrinkles:

  • Crow’s feet – Lines formed around the outer corner of your eyes from motions like squinting or smiling.
  • Forehead lines – Horizontal lines across your forehead or vertical lines between your eyebrows (also known as 11s).
  • Chin wrinkles – Also called Marionette lines, which start at the corner of your mouth and extend to your chin.

Wrinkle relaxers can also improve “gummy smiles,” where excessive gum shows above your teeth when you smile. We can also place Botox or other neurotoxins at the corners and edges of your mouth to relax those muscles, causing a subtle “lift” to your lips without actually adding volume. This procedure, known as a “lip flip,” creates the illusion of a fuller lips while also addressing wrinkles.

Although Botox provides subtle lip enhancements, it does not work as effectively as lip filler, which actually add volume. We could combine both treatments for optimal aesthetic goals if you want to focus on the shape and size of your lips.

Botox for Medical

Botox can ease painful symptoms caused by overactive muscles. In fact, we often perform Botox for TMJ at our dentistry clinic, Dogwood Dental.

TMJ refers to the “temporomandibular joint.” When people clench and grind their teeth, it can cause symptoms like jaw pain, migraines, face and neck tension, and more. Botox blocks the nerve signals that cause these muscles to contract, reducing the strain on your jaw joints and providing relief from the pain.

How long does Botox last?

Botox does provide relief, but it doesn’t cure medical concerns. Therefore, we recommend ongoing treatment to continue enjoying improvements for both aesthetic and medical concerns.

Botox and Xeomin usually last for 2 to 4 months. To help you maintain results and relief, we offer membership options on our aesthetics side. For additional support, we also have choices for financing, so nothing stands in between you and your care.
